PERSUASIVE WRITING

This term we have been doing persuasive writing.
We have been trying to convnince people to do or buy something. This links up to our maths in a way.
We had to state loads of facts, but put them into a sentence that might change someones mind.

ICT

At school we have our own ICT Suite that has a teacher that specialises in computers.
It is so cool, because we each usually get to use our own computer.
We get to do our blogs etc. like this one.
She helps us with literally any problem with the computers.
We get to learn all these neat thing about the computers too.

READING

Our reading links up to our Learning Block.
We are summarising information in readings from on the computer.
We have to read through the text and paraphrase what most of the paragraphs that we read.
These readings are really sad and tell us what really happens to animals at the matine parks and the circus.

TECH ARTS!

We have 4 different tech arts. They include: Drama, Music, Cooking, P.P & Enviro.


DRAMA: Is so much fun with Mr Hay and we play alot of games that involve drama. Mr hay, hannah and me are best friends hee hee hee hee..........

MUSIC: We have to write our own song, play in a band to a song and recreate it.

FOOD TECH: I have just started food tech. The teacher is Ms Eagle. She is very hygenic, and if you cough, sneeze or yawn she yells out GERMS! and looks at you. So far we have made cookies.

P.P & Enviro: I also havent done this yet either. I'm not so sure that I'm looking forward to doing P.P..............are you?

LEARNING BLOCK

Right now we are looking at 'ARE YOU AN ETHICAL CONSUMER?' and how our purchases effect the lives of animals. We got into groups and we each had a different catergory: Travel, Entertainment, Cosmetics & Medicines, Food, and Clothing. . Then we got a scenario and we made a 'Y' chart and in each side we had either: Sounds Like, Looks Like, or Feels Like. Now we are looking at a video of 'GOING APE' and our teacher gave us questions that we needed to give our opinion on them. How do you think what you do effects the lives of animals? Do you support things like the circus by going to them? Please give all your comments to the comments collum.

MATHS

Right now at school, we're looking at area,
volume and perimiter of shapes. We needed to design the layout of a house with spesefic instructions on what the area of each room would be. I am doing mine with Isabel.
We were also told to keep hallways to a minimum. We needed to have 4 bedrooms, a
living room, a dining room, a laundrey room, a kitcken, a bathroom, a toilet, and an entry
room. We also did a garage and pool.
